Supervisor Janice Hahn Endorses Annie Cho for State Assembly Seat

PORTER RANCH, CA -- In a testament to her support from formidable Los Angeles-area leaders, Small Businesswoman Annie Cho announced today she gained the backing of 4th District Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn. First serving on the Los Angeles City Council, and later the U.S. House of Representatives, Hahn has been a longtime champion of working families, environmental protections, and public education.

In a statement, Hahn elaborated upon her support for Cho:

“With so many urgent issues impacting our state, from homelessness to housing to economic development and more, we need levelheaded leadership in the state legislature. That’s why I am proud to endorse Annie Cho for State Assembly. I know she will develop innovative solutions to address our most pressing challenges and bring people together to solve problems. Annie Cho is a small business owner and diversity communications expert with decades of community service and collaborative advocacy. A lifelong Democrat, Annie began her community activism in the late 1970s when she volunteered on the Free Chol Soo Lee Committee and helped get Lee off death row and out of prison. In 1999, Annie founded her own public relations company and has worked with clients in both private and non-profit sectors. Her company received the “Small Business Award” from the United Chamber of Commerce in SFV in 2002. Prior to launching her own business, Annie was director of public relations at LA 18, serving viewers in 18 different languages. She also produced and hosted a weekly half-hour public affairs show “LA Seoul” in Korean for which she received an Emmy nomination. Annie previously served as a commissioner at the Los Angeles Board of Water and Power – the largest municipal utility in the United States, from 2001-2005. She was appointed and reappointed by Mayor James Hahn and unanimously confirmed by the Los Angeles City Council. Annie immigrated to the US from South Korea in 1971 and is fluent in English and in Korean. She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from California State University, Los Angeles.
